Rugby World Cup winning coach Sir Graham Henry has confirmed he would love to continue his role as a mentor figure with the Argentina Rugby Team in this year’s Rugby Championship.

The World Cup winner raised several eyebrows last year when he decided leave his position as the coach of the New Zealand rugby team to take charge of the Argentine national team as a mentor figure to the team’s young coach Santiago Phelan. The move came barely a year after a he had won the title with the All Blacks on home soil.

Aviva Premiership Rugby Football Union club the London Welsh has completed the signing of Gonzalo Tiesi, the international centre for the Argentina Rugby Team to strengthen their options.

The 27 year old Tiesi has vast experience of playing in the Aviva Premiership before, having played in the division before with the likes of Harlequins FC as well as the London Welsh and was recalled into the national team of the Pumas for the autumn internationals of last year, having impressed with his performances for the local Buenos Aires club San Isidro Club.

The 34 year old forward has earned 19 caps for The Pumas in international rugby competitions and he was an ever present figure for the team in the country’s first ever campaign in the Rugby Championships last year.
