Tiesi joins London Welsh

Aviva Premiership Rugby Football Union club the London Welsh has completed the signing of Gonzalo Tiesi, the international centre for the Argentina Rugby Team to strengthen their options.

The 27 year old Tiesi has vast experience of playing in the Aviva Premiership before, having played in the division before with the likes of Harlequins FC as well as the London Welsh and was recalled into the national team of the Pumas for the autumn internationals of last year, having impressed with his performances for the local Buenos Aires club San Isidro Club.

And Tiesi immediately justified his return to the Argentina Rugby Team when he guided his team to a stunning victory against a star studded Wales Rugby Team at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Whilst some bookmakers were offering bonus bets if the Welsh won by more than 30 points, more realistic bookies like Unibet had the teams relavtiely equally matched.

The Argentine player first came to the English shores when he signed with the London Irish from San Isidro Club in 2004 where he played for four years before moving across town to sign with Harlequins FC. And his singing proved to be a huge success for The Quins as the club reached the semi finals of the Aviva Premiership playoffs as well as the quarter final stages of the Heineken Cup.

So impressive were his performances for the club that he was snapped by the powerhouse French side Stade Francais in 2011, but he was not able to replicate his form for the French side and returned to his home to play for his former club. He has played 40 matches in the Premiership for both The Exiles and The Quins and has 26 caps in the Amlin Challenge Cup and the Heineken Cup as well.

Tiesi has also played 32 times for the Argentina Rugby Team and his signature is turning out to be a huge transfer coup by The Exiles.
